MCA - Best Practice for Best Interest Meetings and Decisions delivered by ST Thomas Training

A two part training session to give participants the skills necessary to plan, participate in and chair Best Interests Meetings, in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The ultimate aim would be for practice to improve which would in turn lessen the likelihood of complaints being made, or cases being escalated to the Court of Protection.
Who should attend?
All professional staff who are required to carry out these tasks. All participants should come to the training with a thorough understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, as there will not be the time to cover the basics of the Act or the Code of Practice.
This course is a virtual course run via Zoom or Teams - joining instructions will be sent to via diary invite a week before the course date.
Please note, this course will have regular breaks for participants so please ensure you take yourself away from the screen. The course is aimed to be interactive

A two session course to enable managers in the public, voluntary, private and independent sector to fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities effectively, and to work with their partners in the statutory sector to achieve, wherever possible, the outcomes service users wish to achieve for themselves.
Who should attend?
Anyone who works in a managerial or senior capacity in a health or social care provider setting (e.g. residential homes, day centres, supported living, domiciliary care etc.). Participants should already have a good understanding of the basics of Safeguarding Adults as this is not an awareness session.
