Family Group Conference (FGC) offers all families that receive a pre-proceedings letter from their local authority an opportunity of a FGC meeting. Early independent evaluation found that this use of FGC increased by 15% the number of children safely staying within their family network and decreased by 21% the number of cases going forward in to proceedings.

During some of the most stressful periods of their lives, we have seen families come together in a Family Group Conference to make safe decisions for children at risk. The vast, majority took the opportunity and went on to make workable, safe and sustainable plans for their children

This 90 minute workshop will be led by Lis Gohrisch, Programme Manager for Daybreak Family Group Conferences.

This training is for practitioners working in Children's Services undertaking human rights assessments for children and families with No Recourse to Public Funds.

• Part 1: Introduction to 'no recourse to public funds' (NRPF)
• Part 2: Assessing need and providing support under section 17 of the Children Act 1989
• Part 3: Exit pathways and case resolution

This is a 2-hour monthly seminar for any PCC, GBC or CCG project manager, primarily for those relatively new to project management.

It is facilitated on Microsoft Teams with the occasional guest speaker on a specialist project management topic. The event is run on a drop-in / drop-out basis, so attendees can participate for all or part of the 2 hours allocated, depending on their other commitments.

The seminars will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions, share stories relating to their practice and get coaching from the facilitator and the other participants.

At this event project and programme team manager, Simon Chambers from Corporate Services has kindly volunteered his time to deliver a talk on problem he encountered on a project he was managing.

The seminars are part of a package of project management training available for new project managers. Digital self-study modules and materials are currently in production and hosted in the Future Leaders group on Knowledge Hub.

Enabling and supporting people to learn and develop as they work is a key leadership skill. This five hour virtual workshop on Microsoft Teams looks at how managers can support people to learn though a variety of management and coaching interventions.

Following the workshop, attendees will be directed to the extensive library of reading and digital study materials on this subject available on Knowledge Hub. 

This course will enable participants to understand the differences between an allegation, complaint or standards of care
concern raised about them. They will be able to understand the processes involved in these situations along with the
relevant legislation and National Minimum Standards and be able to learn how they can minimise the chances of being
involved in these types of situations.

ECDL Extra is a recognised qualification at Level 2 and is deemed to be equivalent with GCSE grades A* to C.

ECDL Extra builds on the users basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and improves their understanding of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The HSE strongly recommends that first aiders undertake annual refresher training within any three year certification period of First Aid at work or Emergency First Aid at work. This is not mandatory.

This course is not suitable for first aiders whose certificate has expired or is nearing expiry.

Multi Agency Risk Management Framework (MARM) for those with a responsibility to call and chair a MARM meeting

Training Course Description: This workshop is aimed specifically at those who have a responsibility to co- ordinate and chair MARM (Multi-agency Risk Management) meetings.

You will need to be familiar with the multi-agency adult safeguarding procedures and have attended safeguarding awareness training.

Pre-requisite for attending, is that participants must be familiar with the 4LSAB Safeguarding Concerns Framework (see attached) and have watched the MARM podcast available on PLG Elearning section MARM Training on PLG or via the link  MARM training via Youtube

This course will provide a three year qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) for staff who are either coming to the end of their existing EFAW qualification or for staff who do not have a EFAW qualification and require it for their job role.
